Scott Builders Inc. is seeking a highly organized, detailed oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join the team! This position is responsible for receiving, processing and verifying invoices related to accounts payable as well as vendor maintenance, subcontract administration, reconciliation and month end processes.

Job Responsibilities:
- Corporate accounts payable administration – management of the accounts payable email inbox, statement reconciliation, corporate overhead payables entry, company payable entry confirmations, routing invoices for approval through system
- Support role for branch accounts payable entry and administration
- Payment administration for vendors/invoices on a weekly basis – shared responsibility with others to ensure appropriate segregation of duties between setting up vendors, entering invoices, invoice approvals and invoice payments
- Corporate credit card administration – issuance of new cards and agreements within policy, cancellation of cards/accounts, uploading transactions from online platform to ERP system and reconciliation to credit card statement
- Vendor maintenance and administration in our ERP system
- Vendor compliance administration including certificates of insurances, workers compensation coverage clearances and statutory declarations for holdback funds release
- Subcontract creation based on info from operations and administration to ensure properly filled out and executed
- Responsible for monthly close-out procedures of the accounts payable subledger
- Responsible for handling all vendor inquiries on invoices and payments
- Cross-training on other functional areas within the Finance team
Requirements:
- Post-Secondary certificate or diploma in a business-related discipline (a combination of relevant industry experience and education may be considered)
- 2+ years of experience in the same or similar role
- Previous experience in the construction industry preferred
- Basic knowledge of accounting systems, budgets, and internal controls.
- Ability to review contractual terms to identify payment requirements within construction industry payment regulations
- Proficient in using MS Office products and an ability to prepare ad hoc reports using Excel.
- Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
- Must be able to handle confidential information in an ethical and professional manner.

- Flexibility in working periods of overtime and travel to branches/sites on occasion
