Position Summary
Our Head Office for five Home Hardware Building Centers in BC, Alberta and the Yukon, is located in Victoria, BC. This new position is responsible for managing the finance team to ensure accurate, timely and relevant financial reporting in support of overall business objectives.
Reporting directly to the CFO,
- prepare monthly financial statements, including cash flow, ensuring accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close
- manage accounting, payroll and accounts payable functions and staffing
- coordination and oversight of external accounting, IT, legal, tax
- support the monthly/quarterly/annual budgets and MD&A preparation
- responsible for risk management and maintenance of internal controls
Requirements:

- strategic thinker, with a demonstrated affinity for operations
- comfortable with timely monthly financial statement preparation
- communicate clearly and effectively across all levels of the organization
- absolute passion for ensuring first-class customer service and maintaining current culture
- thrive on solving problems, improving processes and increasing efficiencies
- advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
- experience with a computerized accounting system, Acceo/ProfitMaster experience a definite asset
- accuracy and attention to detail
- accounting degree or equivalent work experience
- retail experience an asset
