Please Note: This is a temporary position ending on or before August 1, 2025 with the possibility of extension. This position is intended to provide operational support through our upgrade to our new ERP and will span 12-24 months.
The Financial Services department is seeking an ambitious individual to join our Accounts Payable team. This position ensures the accuracy of the General Ledger on the Financial System through monthly account reconciliations and ensures travel, expense and Pcard claims are processed in accordance to NAIT policy and procedures. This position is responsible for the preparation of monthly, quarterly and year end analysis and working papers for the financial statements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide training and support to NAIT staff for the travel and expense module in PeopleSoft Finance

Act as accounting reviewer and provides thorough review of all travel, expense and Pcard transactions submitted

Reconciliation of various general ledger accounts for monthly, quarterly and year end reporting

Processes one time and weekly cheque run as required

Other related duties including but not limited to:

Back up to Intermediate Accountant

System testing for upgrades
Skills & Abilities:
- Demonstrated ability to work within a team

Excellent interpersonal skills

Excellent time management skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

Exceptional oral and written communication skills

Strong Excel skills and a demonstrated ability to learn and apply mainframe software applications. Preference will be given to those with PeopleSoft Finance experience.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of an accounting diploma or related discipline from a recognized post secondary institution.

Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and practices is required.

Experience in Accounts Payable would be an asset.

Equivalencies may be considered.
Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services or the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS).
Remuneration: $55,138.46 - $72,519.72 annually, plus a comprehensive benefits package. (Classification – Accountant l).
This position is covered by the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) Collective Agreement.
