We are growing fast, and need to build a solid foundational around the finance function. The ideal candidate will immediately be responsible for owning the books while also developing financial strategies for the organization. You are comfortable handling large amounts of data, acting as a business partner, decision maker, and providing regular financial reporting.
We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles and practices, with proficiency in various accounting software programs such as QuickBooks, Sage, and Xero.
Responsibilities:
- Establish and ensure compliance with suitable internal controls, accounting protocols, and business standards
· Develop and maintain a team framework that facilitates the efficient execution of monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting and reporting responsibilities
· Review journal entries, account reconciliations, corporate financial records, and other documentation to uphold compliance with government tax organizations
· Oversee the precision and efficiency of day-to-day accounting operations to uphold general ledgers and execute the monthly close and reporting procedures
· Preparation of tax remittances and annual tax filings
· Oversee payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable processes
· Provide support for internal and external audit procedures and quarterly financial statement reviews
· Work with all aspects of full cycle accounting, AP, AR, Reconciliations & strong understanding of General Ledger entries.
· Preparation of monthly/quarterly working papers
· Bank reconciliations preparing of daily cash deposits and journal ledger accounts
· Process all aspects of accounts payable including reconciliation of AP sub-ledgers to general ledger control accounts. Responsible to maintain prepaid schedule, and prepare routine accruals at month end.
· Process expense claims, corporate card statements
· Arranges for electronic funds transfers, wire transfers or other disbursements as needed, in manner that is consistent with internal controls and procedures.
· Accounts receivable function includes invoicing customers, following up with customers, issuing credit notes.
· Keep track of all payments and expenditures, including purchase orders, invoices, statements
· Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances
· Paying vendors by scheduling and ensuring payment is received for outstanding credit.
· Preparing analyses of accounts and producing monthly reports
· Process accounts payable invoices; reconciliation of supplier statements; payment of supplier statements
· Posting of sales invoices to accounting software in an accurate manner
· Assist in preparing fiscal year-end working papers for auditors
· Prepare and submit all necessary tax remittances and payroll source deductions to government
· End-to-end Payroll. New employee onboarding and bi-weekly payroll run

Pay: $80,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
