True North HR Consulting seeks an HR Systems Specialist to report to the Manager, Total Rewards Programs and Plans. Candidates must be available to travel as needed within 50 kilometres of the Greater Toronto Area.
As an HR Systems Specialist at True North HR Consulting, you will play a pivotal role in advising clients and senior leadership at True North HR on selecting, implementing, and optimizing HR solutions. You will analyze current HR processes, recommend improvements, and ensure seamless integration of systems to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. The ideal candidate will manage, troubleshoot, and optimize our internal technology systems to ensure seamless operations across all departments. This position requires strong technical expertise, project management skills, and working collaboratively with clients and internal teams.

Hours of Work: 30-40 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
Wage: $50 - $60 / hour (flexible based on level of experience)

Responsibilities for this position include:
HR Technology Implementation:
- Leading the implementation of HR systems for our clients and internally, including planning, configuration, testing, and deployment
- Developing detailed project plans, timelines, and milestones to ensure successful implementation within budget and on schedule
- Coordinating with clients and internal teams to gather requirements, define system specifications, and customize solutions to meet their unique needs
Process Analysis and Improvement:
- Conducting comprehensive analyses of current HR processes and systems
- Identifying areas for improvement and recommending process enhancements to increase efficiency and effectiveness
- Designing and documenting new HR processes and workflows aligned with best practices and industry standards
Client Collaboration and Support:
- Serving as the primary point of contact for clients/internal teams throughout the implementation process, ensuring clear and consistent communication
- Providing training and support to clients' HR teams & internal teams on the use and functionality of HR systems
- Troubleshooting and resolving any issues that arise during and after implementation
System Optimization:
- Continuously assessing and optimizing systems to ensure they meet evolving needs
- Recommending and implementing system upgrades, enhancements, and integrations with other software applications
Managing Internal Systems:
- Managing and maintaining the company's internal technology (i.e., HRIS, Payroll, LMS, etc.)
- Developing and implementing technology policies and procedures to ensure the security and integrity of company data
- Providing technical support to employees
- Collaborating with other departments to identify and address technology needs and requirements
- Staying updated on emerging technologies and trends to recommend and implement improvements to internal systems
Project Management:
- Managing multiple HR system implementation projects simultaneously, including internal systems, ensuring timely and successful completion
- Monitoring project progress, addressing any deviations from the plan, and providing regular updates to clients and internal stakeholders
- Ensuring all deliverables meet quality standards and client requirements
Documentation and Reporting:
- Preparing comprehensive documentation, including process maps, system configurations, user guides, and training materials
- Developing and delivering reports on project status, system performance, and key metrics to clients and internal teams
The ideal candidate for this position will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field
- Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, SHRM-CP, PHR) are a plus
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in HR technology implementation (i.e., HRIS, Payroll, LMS, etc.), process improvement, or a related field
- Experience with UKG is a must
- Previous consulting experience in an HR or IT environment is highly desirable
- Experience with multiple HRIS platforms (e.g., Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle HCM) is preferred
- Strong technical expertise in HR systems and their functionalities
- Familiarity with data integration and interface development
- Proficient with project management software
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets
- A proven track record of successful HR technology implementations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Superior communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple client engagements simultaneously and deliver high-quality results on time and within budget
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong sense of responsibility and commitment to client satisfaction
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Technologically savvy; proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook & Teams) and Zoom
