We have an immediate opening for a Senior Bookkeeper to grow into an important role with our firm here in Lethbridge.
MVO CPA's is accepting resumes for a permanent role to service our clients in Southern Alberta.
There are both Full-time and Part-time options available and flexible in how many hours a day or the time of day.
Responsibilities will include preparing full cycle bookkeeping for our corporate clients; gathering, compiling, and reconciling information; entering and performing spreadsheet analysis; and assisting co-workers while working in an extremely positive and flexible team environment.
Job Duties
- Full cycle bookkeeping for corporate and business client accounts
- Prepare bank reconciliations, payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
- Prepare year-end tax forms like T4 and T5 slips
- Respond to client questions and queries
- Raise identified technical issues with management
- Collaborate with client engagement team prior to the commencement of client work to discuss roles, responsibilities, and deadlines
- Work with multiple accounting software packages and provide support to clients
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, colleagues, and network
- Contribute to the development of new ideas and assist in the implementation to improve work processes

Experience and Education Requirements
- Should be able to be given a bookkeeping job and completing it with out being directed throughout the whole process.
- Should have the experience to setup a customer in QBO online and provide training to a client in those areas they are involved in the process.
- Solid understanding of business and accounting principles
- Preference will be given to formal bookkeeping or accounting training
- Strong computer literacy including effective working skills of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Office 365, and other Microsoft products
- Proficient working with accounting and tax software such as QBO, QuickBooks, Xero, Dext and Profile.
- Relevant work experience in a public accounting firm is an asset
- Recent experience in using Zoom or Microsoft Teams video conferencing software to interact with the public and co-workers in a work environment is an asset.

Compensation
- Starting base hourly wage will be based on experience and education ($23-$28/hr)
- 2-3 weeks (4-6%) vacation pay (depending on years of experience)
- Ability to bank hours to allow for flexible or compressed scheduling
- New client recruitment commissions
- The remaining will be retroactive to hire date after a 3-month probationary period:
