Job Summary:
The accountant is responsible for recording daily financial transactions, invoicing our clients, payroll, and assisting in month-end for the business. They will maintain and file requisite documents for government compliance, monitor cash flow and produce financial reports to assist managers in making strategic decisions
Major Responsibilities
· Process payroll including reconciling and maintaining all payroll related general ledger accounts.
· Responsible for all government remittances (HST, EHT, WSIB).
· Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
· Prepare and submit invoices to clients and follow up on outstanding payments.
· Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
· Ensure accuracy of all financial transactions.
· Posting journal entries.
· Monitor and track expenses.
· Assist with month-end close processes, including journal entries and reconciliations.
· Assist in preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
· Maintain the general ledger.
· Assist in the development of policies and procedures.
· Ensuring compliance with federal, province and local legal requirements.
· Miscellaneous office requirements.
Qualifications/Skills:
Qualifications:
· Proven work experience as a Accountant or in a similar role.
· Diploma in Accounting, Bookkeeping or equivalent experience.
· 5+ years in a similar role.
Skills:
· Basic accounting knowledge and understanding of accounting principles.
· Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
· Strong organizational and time management skills.
· Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
· Effective communication, interpersonal skills and leadership skills
· Expertise in Microsoft Excel.
· Data entry.
· Confidentiality.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
