Title: Finance & Impact Coordinator, Almonte General Hospital Fairview Manor (AGH FVM) Foundation.
Reports to: Executive Director
Summary of Position
The Finance & Impact Officer has operational responsibility for all aspects of Foundation business involving two key areas:
1) Bookkeeping, budget tracking and financial reporting.
2) Demonstrating the impact of Foundation funding on patient and resident care
In support of the Foundation’s operational plan and annually approved budget, the responsibilities include:
- Assist in keeping financial records and establish, maintain, and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems.
- Post journal entries and reconcile accounts, prepare trial balance of books, maintain general ledgers and prepare financial statements.
- Enter expenses into accounting software and budget spreadsheets.
- Complete monthly, quarterly and yearly grant reports for funders.
- Prepare other statistical, financial, and accounting reports.
- Assist with day-to-day financial operations, including data entry, accounts payable, and accounts receivable tasks.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures
- Contribute to the development of efficient financial processes and procedures.
- Assist in the preparation and monitoring of the annual Foundation budget including revenue projections and both direct and indirect expenses
· Lead the tracking of direct expenses related to specific events and activities
· Coordinate production of bi-monthly financial statements for review by the Finance Committee and approval by the Foundation Board of Directors
· Support the annual Audit
- Complete all necessary finance returns, grant applications, lottery reports, and other reporting or reconciliations as required
- Process all accounts payable and receivable transactions in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations
- Participate in procurement initiatives
- Provide assistance and guidance to staff members to ensure compliance with purchasing policies
Provide strategic financial advice and analysis to assist in decision making and ensure effective implementation of operating plans.
In support of the Foundation’s operational plan and annually approved budget, the responsibilities include:
- Working with Hospital and Manor staff to ensure capital equipment items on the annual list are well documented and described
- Tracking designated funds towards these and other items
- Ensuring Hospital and Manor staff report back the impact that new pieces of equipment are having
- Processing grant requests once approved by the board
- Researching and developing additional grant requests
- Tracking funds transferred against annual budget
- Sharing impact stories and information with Foundation colleagues to support exceptional fundraising, communication and stewardship
The Finance & Impact Officer will also support Foundation activities when required including fundraising events, donor appreciation activities, stewardship, board and committee meetings and lotteries
Qualifications
- College diploma with at least three years of progressive financial/booking experience
- Non-profit finance experience
- Working knowledge of Board processes, budgeting and finance and governance

Renumeration: $27.26 per hour plus benefits, participation in the HOOP pension and three weeks vacation
