We are looking for a bright and motivated CPA with a strong background in the technical aspects of consolidation and real estate accounting to join a growing organization.
The right candidate will understand the technical aspects of the role, reporting daily to the Senior Director. The individual will liaise with the President & CEO, CFO, VP Analytics & Acquisitions, Asset Manager, financial controllers, property accountants, legal counsel, and third parties. Ideally you have a background in Accounting or Audit in service providers.
Key responsibilities
- Consolidation of a group of Real Estate companies. Previous and strong experience is a must.
- Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, cash flows and associated notes, account analysis, reconciliations, budgets, internal control maintenance and transaction-related issues.
- Preparation of Management Reporting (PowerPoint), including analysis on financial results/budgets, performance metrics, and benchmarks
- Dealing with yearend audits including preparation of relevant files and resolving issues.
- Preparing and review VAT and tax returns.
- Review bank transactions and necessary supporting documents.
- Very good understanding of IFRS.
- Continuously analyze current automation of the accounting and reporting process and present improvement suggestions
- Successfully collaborate with business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures, control and provide support on special requests when necessary.
- Ad-hoc projects as necessary.
- Dynamic and able to adapt to a growing and changing environment.
Position Base Salary Range: 130,000 - 180,000. The salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.

- Experience with IFRS (Real Estate).
- General familiarity with policies & procedures.
- Problem Identification experience.
- Yardi, QuickBooks, Financial Modelling, Advanced Excel & Advanced PowerPoint experience highly preferred.
- Knowledge of Balance Sheet Reconciliation.
- Demonstrated knowledge of account analysis.
- Month end closings experience desired.
- Foundational knowledge in internal audit.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines.
- Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges.
