Condor Properties is a growing Commercial/Industrial Property Management company based in Vaughan. We have an outstanding opportunity for a Project Accountant to join our Land Development and Construction Team. Reporting directly to the Controller, the Project Accountant is responsible for a specific number of projects with the following duties:
- Reconcile bank statements, loans, and monthly journal entries.
- Reconcile HST accounts and prepare monthly HST filing for Controller to review.
- Verify coding of invoices being processed once authorized by the Project Manager, and review payments for accuracy before submitting to Management for signatures.
- Work with Development and Construction Teams to prepare progress billings for projects and follow up on receipt of payments.
- Maintain and update accounting data to support the preparation of project draws and reports requested by project partners.
- Coordinate with Development Team to allocate property tax bills for land development and construction projects, and ensure they are properly coded.
- Prepare year-end audit working papers for land developments and construction companies, and liaison with auditors.
- Reconcile balance sheet items along with related supporting working papers, including work in progress, accounts receivable, accounts payable and holdbacks payable.
- Prepare intercompany billings for management fees.
- Prepare various accounting reports, analyses and unaudited financial statements as requested, for internal and external users.
- Support property management accounting personnel in development accounting matters.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by Management.
Qualifications:
- A college diploma or University degree is required.
- Accounting designation in CPA, CMA/CGA is an asset.
- Minimum 3 years full cycle accounting experience in the land development and industrial/commercial field.
- Strong systems skills (Excel, Word, Outlook) required.
- Detail oriented with superior analytical and communications skills.
- Experience with Yardi and Navision/Microsoft Dynamics is an asset.
