POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Director, Corporate Services, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing financial operations, with a focus on integrating corporate information. You will lead the development and implementation of processes for cost-based accounting, as well as the integration of corporate systems that feed Microsoft Dynamics GP to maximize efficiencies and sharing of data. The duties of this position include overseeing day-to-day management of the finance department activities, processing payroll, preparing budgets and projections and account analysis.
A natural leader, you have the ability to motivate and coach staff to achieve results. Your advanced skills using accounting software and advanced proficiency in MS Office applications is complemented with your demonstrated project planning, implementation and management skills, preferably in technology/deployment of software applications. Your strong ability to identify business development opportunities and apply leading edge technology will drive continuous improvement of financial operations.
You have obtained a post secondary degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in Commerce, Business Administration in Accounting, Finance or related discipline, complemented with a minimum of 5 years experience in financial analysis, demonstrating a strong understanding of Canadian accounting standards and regulatory compliance. Experience in a non-profit organization or in using Accounting Standards for Not-for-Profit Organizations (ASNPO) is preferred. A Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation, or the ability to obtain, is required. A Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation is considered an asset. Excellent written and oral communication skills in the English language is required.
