Job Summary:
We are seeking an Accounting Technician to join our boutique firm. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing bookkeeping functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and account reconciliations.
Duties:
- Process accounts payable transactions accurately
- Process accounts receivable transactions accurately
- Process payroll and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations
- Conduct account reconciliations
- Perform data entry, manipulate data in Excel, convert documents, and import data into cloud based programs
- Assist with client service and support, including regularly scheduled visits to client locations
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Accounting diploma or degree
- Good to excellent Excel skills
- Confident with Microsoft Office 365
- Comfortable with a paperless, cloud environment
- Familiarity with payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable procedures
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Problem solving skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Nice-to-have Skills:
- Previous experience in an accounting role preferred
- Experience with cloud-based programs such as Xero, QuickBooks Online, Hubdoc, Wagepoint, Payworks preferred
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $22.00-$27.00 per hour
Education:
- AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)
