We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in accounts payable processes and possess strong analytical skills.
Job Summary: The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for processing invoices, reconciling vendor statements, and ensuring that all payments are made accurately and on time. This role involves working closely with vendors and internal departments to resolve any discrepancies and to ensure the efficient operation of the accounts payable function.
Key Responsibilities:
- Invoice Processing:
- Review and verify invoices and check requests.
- Enter all payables on software /Hopem
- Sort, code, and match invoices.
- Set invoices up for payment.
- Enter and upload invoices into the system.
- Payment Processing:
- Prepare and perform check runs.
- Prepare electronic payments and wire transfers.
- Daily bank verification
- Visa payments /statements
- Scanning and saving all documents
- Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date.
- Reconciliation:
- Reconcile accounts payable transactions.
- Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date.
- Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues.
- Maintain vendor files.
- Vendor Management:
- Communicate with vendors to resolve any payment issues.
- Respond to vendor inquiries.
- Assist in the preparation and other compliance documentation.
- Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate historical records.
- Assist with month-end closing.
- Prepare analysis of accounts as required.
- General:
- Provide supporting documentation for audits.
- Month and year end closing
- Balance all GL accounts
- Assist with other accounting projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree in accounting or related field preferred.
- Experience:
- Over 3 years of Proven experience as an accounts payable clerk or in a similar role.
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP).
- Skills:
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
