Our new colleague should have the following Knowledge and Abilities:
- In-depth experience with BC MSP billing rules and procedures
- Previous experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
- Experience and previous use of Medical EMR systems
- Analytical approach to solving issues
- Knowledge of and previous use of Microsoft Office suite, including:
- Excel
- Word
- Outlook
- Professional phone and email etiquette with the ability to interact effectively with clients, healthcare professionals, and team members
- Organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple responsibilities efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail
- Proven organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality in handling sensitive information
- Must be able to pass a Criminal Record Check
- Bilingualism is an asset
Examples of Duties and Responsibilities:
- Answer or escalate as necessary, client phone calls and email billing enquiries regarding:
- Rejections
- MSP billing rules
- Billing procedures
- Work Safe, Out of Province, Private Insurer and Private Pay claims
- Investigate billing rejections and anomalies
- Review Teleplan broadcast messages
- Provide administrative support to Billing Manager, as required
- Troubleshoot tier 1 billing software issues
- Username/password
- Login trouble
- Assist in analyzing billing reports for trends, process enhancements and issue identification
