SUMMARY
The Human Resources Manager will review, maintain and enhance the organization’s human resources policies, programs and practices. Provide top-notch human resources service and support to client groups and all business partners.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Act as a first point of contact for HR inquiries.
· Provide day to day HR leadership, advice, and strategic support to all business partners.
· Production Incentive Program - Calculating Quarterly bonus based on set targets and labour cost.
· Ensuring accuracy of Labour Costings-Temporary Transfers- station codes by department/shift/projects.
· Execute Attendance Program - hourly vacation/time off/workbook updates.
· Execute disciplinary/corrective action letters/meetings.
· Ensure building security responsibility - using and maintaining records of FOBs, keys and codes.
· Time management- monitor/adjust punches for individuals, employee changes/requests-vacations/sick leave/etc. Manage employees’ leave of absences (i.e. STD, LTD, WSIB, ESA approved absences, etc.) and estimated time of return.
· Payroll-process salaried and hourly payroll and ensure accuracy.
· Address office concerns, conduct performance evaluations and probationary assessments.
· Update plant seniority list and job postings.
· Work in collaboration with HR counterparts in other lines of business to promote best practices and minimize unnecessary differences.
· Continually identify and make process improvement recommendations to elevate the quality of HR services and support.
· Be the lead in negotiating collective agreements, manage labour relations such as union grievances, arbitrations and other inquires.
· Assist in the administration of the Health & Safety program, accident investigation and reporting, inspections, return to work coordination, etc.
· Stay apprised of all applicable legislations, ensuring we are legally compliant, make recommendations and revisions as necessary.
· Responsible for working the department heads on talent management and succession planning within their teams.
· Responsible for full cycle recruitment throughout the Company.
· Maintain and utilize templates for offer letters, termination letters, etc.
· Responsible for delivering a thorough onboarding and orientation to all new hires within the Company.
· Manage all employee relations matters in a timely, professional and strategic manner.
· Participate in Human Resources Information Management System (HRIS) implementation.
· Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor's degree or post graduate degree/diploma in Human Resource Management.
· HRPA designation or working towards the designation is considered an asset.
· 5+ years of Human Resource Management experience in a manufacturing environment.
· 3+ years working experience in unionized environment.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
· Ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
· Ability to take initiative, problem solve and resolve issues related to all HR functions.
· Broad knowledge of regulatory guidelines and application of guidelines for the development of policies and practices
· Strategic thinker and able to confidently provide reliable advice.
