Job Description: Human Resources (HR) ManagerPosition Scope:
The Human Resources Manager will lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the HR department, ensuring the smooth execution of HR functions including recruitment, employee relations, payroll, health and safety compliance, and employee development. The ideal candidate will have experience with payroll systems, preferably ADP, and a solid understanding of health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the HR department, ensuring efficient and effective HR service delivery.
- Implement and maintain HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance and operational excellence.
- Manage the recruitment and selection process to attract and retain top talent.
- Supervise payroll processing to ensure accuracy and compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
- Manage payroll systems, with a preference for experience in ADP, ensuring efficient payroll administration.
- Develop and enforce health and safety policies in accordance with legal standards.
- Provide health and safety training and resources to employees to promote a safe work environment.
- Foster a positive work environment and culture through effective employee engagement and communication strategies.
- Handle employee relations issues, including performance reviews, disciplinary actions and terminations.
- Design and implement training and development programs to enhance employee skills and career progression.
- Assist in the development and administration of compensation and benefits programs.
- Ensure that compensation practices are competitive and equitable.
- Stay informed about market trends and best practices in compensation and benefits.
- Ensure HR practices comply with all relevant labour laws and regulations.
- Maintain and update employee records in compliance with legal requirements.
- Prepare and submit required reports to management and regulatory bodies as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- HR certification: CHRP is an advantage.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a management role in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with payroll systems, especially ADP, is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience in health and safety management.
- Strong knowledge of HR principles, practices, and employment laws.
- Experience interacting with a legal team.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- High level of discretion and confidentiality.
- Proven track record of effective HR management.
- Experience in a multi-site or diverse organizational setting is a plus.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to travel as needed.
