Riggit is a leading full service rigging company serving Theatre, Entertainment and related Industries. Riggit offers a full range of rigging and lighting equipment and supplies to clients across Canada and the United States. Riggit suspends objects for special events, exhibitions and shows.
We are looking for an experienced Accountant to join our team; This position can be part time or full time upon discussion with the right candidate. Full benefits/rrsp/bonus pay will be offered to the right candidate, making a minimum of 32 hrs/week work hours.
- Full cycle accounting, responsible for the day-to-day management accounting and operational functions, including banking, reconciliation, credit card payments
- Responsible for bank deposits
- Enter and process accounts payable invoices and issue payments
- Follow up on AR accounts to ensure they are current
- Support with file maintenance both physical and digital
- Complete credit card reconciliations
- Review costs and billing amounts to ensure gross margins
- Raise concerns of any discrepancies or financial anomalies
- Calculate staff bonus, commission, etc.
- Prepare other financial and accounting reports;
- Maintain project-related documentation and requirements including contracts, addendums, modifications of purchase and service orders;
- Staff and/or Board members expense tracking and reconciliation;
- Other duties as assigned;
- Payroll preparation and remittance;
- Reconciliation of subledgers;
- Provide support during the budgeting process;
- Complete and submit GST returns, WCB and other government documents;
- Escalate concerns with discretion and expedite the resolution of any issues;
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing including cost allocation, journal entry preparation, and account reconciliations;
- Receive amounts by verifying documentation.
Job Requirements
- Exceptional written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills;
- Time management, multi-tasking, and organizational skills; strong attention to detail;
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office with a strong emphasis on excel skills;
- Ability to prioritize under pressure and on tight timelines;
- Bachelor’s degree/ Diploma in accounting, business or a related field;
- 1-2 years of related experience;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- Essential – Great attention to detail;
- Important – Good with numbers and figures and an analytical ac;

Contract length: 15 months
Pay: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
