We are a small family-run door shop based in Kelowna, BC. Primarily, we work with builders where quality and attention to detail are the main focus. We work hard and have high standards, but we are also a fun team and like to keep the atmosphere light while working.
The ideal candidate is responsible for supporting the accounting practice with meticulous bookkeeping, as well as assisting in purchasing material and coordinating incoming material with the shop. Your commitment to detail, exceptional communication skills are a must and ability to manage diverse tasks with precision are exactly what we are looking for. This candidate will also need to ensure that no task is beneath them and be able to pivot when necessary. We are looking for long-term employees who want to grow with the company,
Attractive Hours: 7:00 - 4:00 Monday to Thursday and 7:00 - 1:30 Friday
Wage is negotiable depending upon previous experience.
Required
- Minimum 2 years of bookkeeping experience.
- Intermediate or advanced computer skills.
- Exceptionally detail oriented.
- Highly organized and diligent.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken skills.
- Ability to demonstrate initiative and work independently.
- A self-starter and a willingness to learn on the job.
- Excellent time-management and multi-tasking skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Aptitude for managing sensitive information with integrity.
Accounting Practice
- Bookkeeping (full cycle, invoicing, recording transactions, maintaining general ledgers) using Aquilon.
- Working on month-end & year-end client files
- Preparing basic tax returns.
- Filing, scanning and typing up files and documents.
- Organizing and maintaining accounting files and filing systems.
- Other tasks as needed.
Purchasing/Scheduling
- Prepare and Submit Purchase Orders
- Follow up on purchase orders and estimated delivery time
- Tracking client projects.
- Prepare Packing Slips
- Maintain up to date price lists from suppliers
- Maintain strong relationships with clients
- Schedule deliveries
- Update job schedule log
- Ordering Supplies
- And other duties
