We are now embarking on a new stage of growth to meet the increased demand for our products. Irpinia is looking to hire a full-time Accounting Manager to perform corporate accounting, assess and pay sales taxes, perform financial analysis, assist with new systems implementations, forecasting, and other tasks to support the company growth.
Role Description:
Reporting to the Director of Finance, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the company maintains strong internal controls and processes to allow management to make effective business decisions. The successful candidate will have a mix of excellent communication and financial accounting skills as well as system technical proficiency. The candidate will use those skills to ensure the company maintains disciplined processes in financial accounting, reporting, tax compliance, reconciliations, cash and profitability forecasting and variance analysis.
The successful candidate will also participate in many projects to improve the financial and operational systems of the company including a new accounting system, expense reporting and ERP systems. This role will provide many opportunities to learn and grow over time.
The ideal candidate will possess solid accounting skills from having worked 4 to 5 years in an accounting department, preferably in manufacturing. In addition, the successful candidate will have strong computer skills, Microsoft Excel, attention to detail, and the ability to work with data and analyze and support management decision making. A professional demeanor, positive attitude and willingness to work in a team environment are essential.
Responsibilities:
· Support the Director Finance in the monthly financial statement close process
· Support key financial processes and internal controls including cash reconciliations, variance analysis, sales tax compliance, payment of key vendors, inventory management, cash forecasting and collections, asset management and amortization
· Provide additional oversight and management of a team by being involved in the approval of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, inventory adjustments
· Assist with the implementation of a new accounting system, Expense management and ERP solution
· Facilitate coordination between accounting and other company departments including sales, operations, procurement, logistics
· Improve processes, financial tools, oversight of company assets and create efficient processes and systems to maintain strong controls
· Assist with audit and financial reporting to key stakeholders
Requirements:
· A minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in an accounting department (for candidates with an accounting designation)
· A minimum of 4 to 5 years of experience in corporate accounting (for candidates without an accounting designation)
· Strong computer skills, Microsoft Excel, experience with multiple accounting systems, for example, Quickbooks, Sage, Xero, MS Dynamics, Seradex, 20/20, Netsuite, Jonas
· Knowledge of percent of completion and construction management accounting is an asset
· Experience with sales tax reporting in multiple jurisdictions is an asset
· Experience working with pivot tables, excel formulas and large volumes of data is an asset
· University degree or College diploma in accounting, business administration, administrative management, economics, mathematics, finance
· In addition, candidates with 2 or more years in an accounting designation program are preferred
· Experience with job costing, actual vs budget analysis, percent of completion accounting, revenue recognition are an asset
· Excellent communication skills
· Reliable, organized and able to focus attention on details
· Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
· Support the team by learning other roles and providing assistance during transitions
