COORDINATOR, ACCOUNTING – FINANCE & OPERATIONS

POSITION OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Controller, the incumbent provides tangible support to the Finance & Operations team and is primarily responsible for preparing, recording and administering accounts payable, financial reports & reconciliations, employee expense reports as well as assisting with other financial reporting processes. They maintain and establish solid relationships within the company and with external liaisons and identify opportunities for improving administrative processes. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with people and who is efficient in carrying out administrative tasks. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Participate in the production of monthly and annual financial reports
· Research and implement new process/workflow/tool changes to improve efficiencies
· Perform month-end close and account reconciliations
· Process accounts payable & employee expense reports
· Responsible for company expense report system (Certify)
· Participate in various projects / assignments to optimize processes
· Exercise sound judgement in the application of procedures and controls
· Other tasks as required by management
SKILLS, REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
· Completed University Degree in Accounting or related Diploma
· Accounting Designation a definite asset or intention to pursue CPA program or already enrolled
· 2+ years of experience in accounting and/or similar role
· Willing to learn and ability to consistently handle multiple concurrent priorities
· Exceptional communication skills.
· Strong business, operations, and financial acumen
· Ability to develop, analyze and create insights from financial and operational data
· A highly collaborative team player and self-starter, with a track record of independent initiatives
· Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
· Fully proficient with Microsoft Office
