On behalf of our client, Talentworks is presently recruiting for an Accounting Clerk to join our clients team in Blandford, NS. This position offers an excellent Hybrid opportunity working both onsite and remotely.
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the role of the Bookkeeper is to maintain day to day bookkeeping of the company, including payroll and benefit transactions. Examples of responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Reconciles and balances accounts, including daily and weekly bank reconciliations and cash
management
Performs hourly payroll transactions
Responsible for providing reports to Cost Accountant for monthly and adhoc reporting
Responsible for Accounts Receivables including, preparation of invoices; collection and allocation of
payments
Assists with issuing of cheques/wire transfers/ bank drafts for payment of invoices
Assists with preparation of all necessary documentation for year-end purposes
Preparation of hourly payroll T4’s and related employment income slips
Assists with Audit preparation and compliance
Prepares WCB reports as required
Assists with Inventory management as required and requested
Requirements/Qualifications
Degree or diploma in Bookkeeping or related field of study from a recognized university or college, ora combination of education, training and experience is required
3 to 5 years of experience working in a similar capacity
Experience with SAGE 300 Accounting system is considered an asset
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
Experience working in the food industry considered an asset
This is a full time position with a starting wage of $21 - $25 per hour with a competitive benefit package.
