Financial Analyst - Payroll
Working both independently and as a part of the Finance team, the Financial Analyst will play pivotal role within the organization. This is a well-rounded role and you will be involved in all activities within the accounting department from payroll to month end.
- Prepare the bi-weekly payroll summary file for 75+ full-time and hourly employees
- Process accounts payable and liaise with vendors regarding expected payments
- Assist with full-cycle month-end accounting, posting journal entries and supporting reconciling key balance sheets and income statement accounts.
- Process off-cycle payroll run in accordance with labor regulations and standard accounting principles
- Follow up on outstanding customer accounts
- Performregular payroll reporting as required and assist with financial audits related to pay records and associated general ledger
- Prepare systems and protocols to direct the collection, calculation, and entering of payroll information
- Assist in the new employee hiring process as it relates to the collection of personal information
- Posting journal entries, bank reconciliations, invoicing, and client and vendor management
- Assist in the posting of accounts to the general ledger for accounts receivable, cash receipts, accounts payable, and cash disbursements
- Assist and prepare the annual T4, T2200 and other related tax documents
- Prepare records of employment (ROE)
- Assist on Ad-hoc duties as and when required
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
- Post-secondary school diploma/degree in Business or Finance
- Experience with QuickBooks Enterprise/Desktop
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office - Excel, Outlook, and Word
- Experience and knowledge of pivot tables and v-lookups
- Excellent communication, both verbal and written
- Must have great attention to detail and accuracy
- Must be able to work independently as well as apart of a team.
- Naturally able to identify and solve problems using logic and sound judgement.
