Junior Accountant

We are looking for a Junior Accountant to join our growing team at Corus Orthodontists. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this position will be primarily accountable for maintaining records and reconciling accounts for our practice partners. This hands-on role encompasses a wide range of functions, including both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities. To support our growing number of practices, we are looking for a good team player who has a keen interest in building successful relationships. This is a full-time, permanent, hybrid position based in Calgary, Alberta.

- Enter transactions into the general ledger on behalf of the practice partners
- Maintain Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable ledgers
- Assist in monthly reporting to practice partners
- Reconcile bank statements with the general ledger
- Manage vendor relationships and enquiries
- Respond to accounting enquiries from practice partners
- Follow up with practice partners on Finance and Accounting requirements
- Respond to all communications, including e-mails and phone calls, in a timely manner
- Provide administrative and operational support duties as needed
- Complete various ad hoc tasks and initiatives as required
- Post-secondary education in accounting or related field is required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 3+ years’ relevant work experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including V-lookups and Pivot Tables
- Proficiency in SAGE Intacct
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to effectively perform in a fast-paced, start-up environment
- Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships
