Payroll and Benefits Specialist
As the Payroll and Benefits Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in managing the payroll and benefits operations for our dynamic organization. We are seeking a highly motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is dedicated to delivering premium service.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day management of Ontario & Atlantic payroll (salary and hourly employees), ensuring accurate and timely processing across multiple provinces.
- Maintain awareness of legislation and payroll procedures relating to Canada.
- Coordinate payroll processing using ADP Workforce, ensuring accuracy in wage calculation, tax withholding, and company deductions.
- Administer the ADP payroll system, maintaining accurate employee records and ensuring the integrity of payroll data.
- Liaise with HR to manage enrollment of new hires, corporate benefits, and other relevant matters.
- Reconcile group benefits, manage payroll garnishments, and ensure compliance with relevant policies and regulations.
- Complete year-end tax filings and respond to payroll inquiries from employees, management, and external agencies.
- Support internal and external audits and assist with onboarding and offboarding processes.
- Serve as a liaison to ADP, CFO, HR, and other stakeholders in implementing ADP (WFN) and managing payroll processing.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of payroll experience with at least 3 years independently managing payroll cycles.
- Recent experience with ADP (WFN) initialization and full-cycle payroll processing.
- In-depth knowledge of multi-provincial taxation and payroll standards.
- Post-secondary degree/diploma in business/accounting/payroll.
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation preferred; Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) would be an asset.
