What you will do:
Under the guidance of the Office Manager, the accounting clerk provides support to general accounting activities. This includes assisting in the preparation of journal entries/ledgers, fixed asset and inventory accounting, budgeting, cost accounting, reconciliation, and/or financial statement consolidation. Support accounting procedures by evaluating and assessing the co-operatives controls, processes, and procedures. Provides supporting analysis for more senior team members on financial review and activities. Works across multiple areas of accounting based on changing business needs. Performs routine work assignments under guidance. Duties will include:
- Providing support to Office Manager & Controller with respect to preparation of analysis of commodity inventories, margins, period, year end statements and other reports in a punctual manner
- Prepare reconciliations of assigned balance sheet accounts and preparation of journal entries in a timely fashion
- Assisting with the preparation of working papers related to year end audit / providing support for audit process
- Entering and tracking key financial data into accounting software / system
- Provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers
- General office duties as required including administrative support and other accounting functions as assigned
Who you are:
