Bornn Bookkeeping is searching for a new colleague to join our unique and casual environment. We are seeking a Manger of Bookkeeping Operations to support our growing business and report directly to the Owner. Role is on-site and in Red Deer, Alberta.
The Manger of Bookkeeping Operations will be responsible for supporting our bookkeeping team (both in-house and remotely) and supporting the day-to-day operations of our company, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in all areas.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting /finance, as well as excellent leadership, communication and soft interpersonal skills. This position requires the ability to deal with a multitude of personality types from both colleagues and clients. Previous experience with QuickBooks and/or QuickBooks Online is important.
Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance and support to our bookkeeping team, fostering a positive work environment
- Support business growth through new client engagements, disengagements and general customer service
- Monitor and analyze operational performance, identifying areas for improvement
- Complete scheduled reviews of client's books for accuracy, prepare for government filings and submit to offsite Accountants for completion
- Ability to answer questions about asset, liability and equity accounts for bookkeeping team and clients
- Review client Canada Revenue Agency activity to reconcile accounts and take agent phone calls/questions
- Review deadlines and allocate tasks appropriately
- Support client and bookkeeper questions in a thoughtful and kind manner via telephone, email or in-person
- Identify training needs and coordinate professional development opportunities for bookkeeping team
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices, implementing changes as necessary
Requirements:
- Degree in Accounting/Finance or related field (preferred)/significant experience
- Proven experience in leading a team
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices with practical experience
- Proficiency in using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks)
- In good standing with the Canada Revenue Agency for CRA Rep ID
- Effective communication and leadership abilities
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Other transferable skills may be considered
Starting wage is $27-$29 per hour.
Health benefits are available after 3 months.
