Title: Accounts Payable Specialist
Location: Downtown Toronto
Compensation Package: $60,000 - $65,000 + 3 weeks’ vacation + benefits + tuition reimbursement + summer hours + additional days off for Christmas – New Year shutdown
Your new role:
My client, a real estate developer in downtown Toronto, is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join their team. In your new role, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of accounts payable to ensure smooth operations. You will assist with the day-to-day AP functions, ensuring that invoices are processed accurately and on time. This includes tracking invoices against contracts and purchase orders, obtaining missing information, and solving process-related problems with vendor invoices. Additionally, you will execute regular cheque and EFT runs, reconcile vendor statements, and communicate effectively with project managers and vendors. Key responsibilities include:
- Tracking invoices against contracts and purchase orders
- Obtaining missing information, backup, and/or approvals and solving process-related problems with vendor invoices
- Entering invoices accurately and completing the monthly draws on time
- Executing regular cheque and EFT runs, including matching supporting backup for each payment
- Contacting vendors to request refunds for outstanding credit balances when necessary
- Communicating with project managers
- Reconciling vendor statements, handling phone requests, and obtaining information needed to ensure accurate and timely payment to vendors
- Effectively communicating with team members and business partners
What you will need to succeed:
To succeed in this role, you will need to have over 3 years of full-cycle accounts payable experience in a high-volume environment. A university degree or college diploma in Finance, Economics, or Accounting is required, either in progress or completed. You must have excellent communication and writing skills, a strong work ethic, and strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
