Position Overview
ABC Recycling Ltd. is seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk to be based out of our head office in Burnaby, B.C. Reporting to Accounts Payable Supervisor, the job holder will be responsible for all aspects of Accounts Payable to ensure effective, efficient, and accurate processing of invoices and payments. Our ideal candidate will be highly organized and have a keen eye for detail to spot any issues that may arise.
Responsibilities
- Responds to incoming A/P emails (up to 50 or more per day).
- Prints invoices from customers and vendors (i.e. Superior Propane and Pitney Works).
- Distributes accounting mail to appropriate personnel.
- Reviews and processes payment for employee expense reports from all yards.
- Processes payment requests and invoices from other internal employees (benefits).
- Processes rush EFT and cheque payments (like bill payments).
- Pays EFT payments for all yards once a week.
- Emails remittances after payments have been posted.
- Assists with cheque runs when necessary.
- Reviews and processes gas statements at the end of each month.
- Processes transfers applying and posting to A/P and A/R.
- Posts US currency payments.
- Adjusts posts US funds EFT payments.
- Posts auto paid invoices.
- Prepares rent cheques.
- Processes intercompany invoices at the month end in A/R and A/P.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Previous Accounts Payable experience in a high-volume environment.
- Experience with Sage 300 is an asset.
- Intermediate knowledge in MS Excel and excellent data entry skills.
- Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and proficiency in a high-volume role.
- Customer service focused, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
