The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join our Glencore Sudbury Integrated Nickel Operations in Greater Sudbury, Ontario.
The position will be based in Falconbridge, Greater Sudbury, Ontario.
This is a full-time, permanent unionized position.
Work location is not accessible by public transportation.
Duties and Accountabilities:
The Senior Financial Accountant is responsible for the overall cost control and financial reporting at the site. They are also responsible for the continuing development and maintenance of an information system emphasizing cost control. This position ensures accurate and complete financial reporting for the business unit or department in accordance with company policies, accepted accounting principles and on-site needs.
This position prepares the financial portion of the site annual budget.

Education and Skills
· Attained a recognized accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, or CGA) or currently enrolled in the CPA accounting designation program with good standing, or have met the requirements to enroll in the CPA program
· Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft suite of software, particularly Excel;
· Several years of related experience is considered an asset, preferably in the mining or resource industries.
