One of our esteemed clients is seeking a Controller to join their team. The Controller will play a crucial role in maintaining the company’s financial health by managing accounting and financial operations. This position involves overseeing daily financial processes, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and collaborating with various teams to achieve the organization’s financial objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports, and develop dashboards to monitor key performance metrics.
- Conduct variance analyses and provide insights to support strategic decision-making by leadership.
- Oversee the accounting team’s operations, including accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger activities, while managing month-end and year-end close processes.
- Ensure adherence to accounting principles, internal policies, GAAP, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards, and support external audits.
- Collaborate with the finance team to facilitate budgeting, create financial forecasts, and monitor budget performance with recommendations for adjustments.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets, ensure data integrity, and enhance compliance.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, adopt new tools, and boost operational efficiency.
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including procurement, operations, and sales, to align financial reporting with company objectives.
- Mentor and develop finance team members while staying updated on industry trends and regulatory changes to share insights with the team.
- Collaborate with external stakeholders such as auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory agencies, and take on special projects as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline; CPA designation preferred.
- A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting requirements.
- Proficiency with financial tools and systems, including QuickBooks and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to foster teamwork and lead by example.
