Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Associate to join our accounting team. This position requires at least two years of experience in public accounting and involves performing a wide range of accounting, auditing, and tax assignments. The Senior Associate works independently with minimal supervision and ensures tasks are completed within established budgets and deadlines. In addition, they will mentor and guide junior team members, providing feedback and training to enhance their skills.

- Perform a broad range of accounting, auditing, and tax tasks under the direction of Supervisors, Managers, or Directors.
- Demonstrate technical proficiency, high-quality work, and adherence to professional and firm standards.
- Ensure timely completion of tasks and meet client deadlines.
- Participate in the planning and scheduling of client engagements.
- Provide guidance and instruction to less experienced team members on task execution, including reviewing their work papers and offering necessary revisions.
- Plan audit procedures, select transactions for testing, and determine the necessary extent of test-checking.
- Prepare and index work papers, verifying the accuracy and validity of clients’ financial information in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Offer tax planning ideas to Supervisors, Managers, or Directors.
- Draft routine client correspondence and management letter comments for approval by senior staff.
- Prepare reports, including financial footnotes, for clients.
- Take on a broad range of A&A tasks, ensuring minimal supervision from higher-level staff.
- Mentor junior associates, providing constructive feedback and on-the-job training to help them develop professionally.
- Continue professional development by working towards CPA certification, if not already obtained.
- Represent the firm at client events, meetings, and industry seminars.
- Complete other assigned duties and special projects as needed.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect and analyze data, draw conclusions, and present findings clearly to supervisors or clients.
- Ability to interpret and apply technical instructions and manage both abstract and concrete variables.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, government officials, and other external contacts.
- Detail-oriented, with excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in accounting from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum of two years of public accounting experience, demonstrating increasing complexity in auditing, accounting, and tax responsibilities.
- Certifications or Licenses:
- A valid Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or progress towards obtaining CPA certification.
