Position Summary
The Payroll and Workforce Systems Analyst will be primarily responsible for supporting and optimizing payroll, HR, timekeeping, and finance systems, with a focus on payroll reconciliation, reporting, and system troubleshooting. This role will also involve providing end-user support for system-related inquiries, including resolving technical issues and ensuring smooth system operation. The Analyst will work with large data sets to generate, analyze, and report on key workforce metrics, supporting decision-making across the organization. Additionally, the role will be integral to ERP implementation and ongoing system optimization.
Reporting to the Finance Director, the Analyst will collaborate closely with Payroll, Human Resources, Finance, Business Intelligence, and Information Technology Services (ITS) teams to ensure seamless system performance and effective user support.
Required
- University degree in Business, Human Resources, IT or related field.
- 3-5 years of significant position related experience.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Chartered Professional Accountant, Payroll Compliance Professional, HRIS certification).
Duties
Payroll Reconciliation and Support
- Ensure accurate payroll data reconciliation, resolve discrepancies, and maintain data integrity in compliance with financial regulations and OHRS.
- Provide technical support and system troubleshooting for payroll processes.
Reporting and Analytics
- Develop and optimize payroll and workforce management reports, analyzing data to identify trends and support decision-making.
- Generate regular and ad-hoc reports on payroll costs, staffing, and productivity metrics.
ERP Implementation and Support
- Assist in ERP system implementation and maintenance, ensuring seamless integration with payroll, HR, and finance functions.
- Collaborate on system configurations, testing, and troubleshooting to maintain compliance and accuracy.
End-User Support and Training
- Provide user support, training, and resources for payroll and workforce systems.
- Maintain user guides and training materials to ensure effective system utilization.
System Maintenance and Optimization
- Conduct audits to ensure data accuracy and compliance, while optimizing system features for efficiency.
- Coordinate updates, patches, and upgrades with minimal operational disruption.
Payroll Compliance
- Support compliance with payroll regulations and assist in generating required reports and documentation.
- Monitor legislative changes and recommend necessary system adjustments.
Collaboration and Improvement
- Partner with Payroll, HR, and Finance teams to enhance processes, reporting accuracy, and workflows.
- Use data insights to implement solutions that improve efficiency and optimize payroll operations.
