About The Role
Reporting to the Associate Director, Global Payroll, the Global Payroll Specialist is responsible for performing and supervising all activities necessary to ensure the accuracy and timely processing of the Canada, US, UK and Mexico payrolls. You would be an excellent fit for this role if you are tech-saavy and get excited about supporting Q4’s transition away from ADP towards an insourced payroll software solution.
Reporting to the Associate Director Global Payroll, the Payroll Specialist is accountable for the payrolls’ day-to- day operations, payroll tax and accounting, as well as internal/external audits. Your core focus would be ensuring the accuracy of our North American payroll and providing secondary coverage for UK and Mexico which are overseen by our Associate Director, Global Payroll who will provide mentorship for you to learn these jurisdictions.
What You'll Do
- Full cycle processing Global payrolls in a timely and accurate manner, including benefits reconciliation.
- Payroll changes to include, but not limited to salary/wages increases, benefit deductions, employee terminations and Record of Employment.
- Review/reconcile quarterly and year-end payroll reports including T4s, W2’s and other required reporting.
- Reconcile the monthly benefit reports
- Prepare and balance the payroll Journal entries
- Stays up to date of regulatory changes which impact the payroll function
- Provide the Finance team with ad hoc reports, as required
- Support and collaborate inter-departmentally
Qualifications
- 4-5 years of North American payroll experience
- PCP designation
- Payroll Accounting knowledge
- ADP Workforce Now and Rippling experience is an asset
- Exposure to international payroll preferred (or willing to learn)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Collaborative and has an excellent customer service skills
- Strong sense of urgency, accountability, attention to detail, and ability to multitask
- Excellent communication skills
- Highly organized and great time management skills - you’re able to juggle multiple priorities at once
- Continuous improvement mindset to streamline payroll processes.
