Position: General Accountant
Location: GTA, hybrid working conditions
Salary: $60,000-$65,000
Your New Company
We are currently working with a valued client who is a leader in the CPG/distribution industry. They are seeking a General Accountant to join their team.
Your New Role
You will be responsible for supporting AP, AR, updating the GL, dealing with vendors/customers and other duties.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Update and maintain accounting journals, ledgers, and other records detailing financial transactions (e.g., disbursements, expense vouchers, receipts, accounts payable).
- Record and reconcile intercompany entries.
- Reconcile month-end Bank, A/R, and A/P general ledger account balances to the subledgers.
- Prepare and file monthly HST returns.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes and assist in year end audit.
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives and identify areas for increased efficiency.
- Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payments.
- Reconcile vendor statements and address any discrepancies.
- Oversee the setup of new vendors and maintain accurate records, monitor and reconcile accounts.
- Assist in the collections process and resolve any issues.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3+ years of accounting experience.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including V-lookup, pivot tables, etc.
- Working knowledge of QuickBooks.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
