Position Overview:
The primary role of the investment analyst will be to support the investment committee in monitoring, performance reporting, and research of investment managers. This role will support the investment committee in a variety of ad-hoc projects and provide the opportunity to be involved in decision making processes including selecting new investment managers, and asset allocation decisions. The investment analyst will gain exposure to a wide variety of asset classes, including fixed income, public equity, infrastructure, venture capital, private equity, and various alternative asset classes.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to be a part of a dynamic team, perform diverse tasks, and gain valuable knowledge and skills across a large breadth of asset classes and investment strategies.
Core Responsibilities:
The Investment Analyst’s core responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Produce manager fact sheets, investment reports, and commentary which can be used internally and externally.
- Analyze and report on annual public and private manager analysis, which includes analyzing managers on a variety of quantitative and qualitative metrics.
- Review and report on managers investment styles, portfolio characteristics, performance attribution and clearly summarize findings into a digestible format
- Communicate directly with investment managers, record keepers and custodians to gather and/or clarify specific data for reporting and ongoing monitoring;
- Contribute to developing asset allocation models, private equity pacing models, and other ad-hoc investment related projects;
- Support client team in answering investment inquiries from current clients and developing investment material for prospects,
- Attend meetings with external managers and write notes, follow-up as necessary, and analyze responses for discussion with investment committee.
- Design, automate, and/or streamline investment performance and reporting processes.
- Maintain a very high level of data accuracy and develop and implement controls to ensure data integrity for investment performance/monitoring.
- Assist in the onboarding of new managers and/or funds, including reviewing and completing various fund documents.
Relevant background and experience:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a related field.
- CFA designation is a strongly preferred – can be in the process of pursuing designation.
- Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in investment manager research, portfolio management, or a related role.
- Experience with Excel and Powerpoint
- Knowledge of eVestment and Bloomberg is beneficial.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis.
- Knowledge of various asset classes and investment strategies.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- An extremely high attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and precision.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
