Junior Accountant, you'll play a critical role within the Finance team, assisting with the monthly accounting close cycle, completing regulatory tax filing requirements, and aiding the accounts payable team.

About the Team:
We are a hybrid team which means you will required to work in the office 3 days per week. Working in office days are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

What You’ll Do:
- Prepare and post journal entries in accordance with US GAAP.
- Assist with month-end closing by performing account reconciliations, preparing accruals, and updating continuity schedules under supervision.
- Support the preparation of monthly management accounts and external reporting to banks.
- Prepare cash journal entry working papers and bank reconciliations.
- Perform variance analysis as required and provide insights to the senior accounting team.
- Run the monthly accounting modules within NetSuite including prepaids and fixed assets.
- Assist with audits by gathering required documentation and providing samples as requested.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and support audit queries.
- Assist in the preparation of tax reconciliations and filing submissions as needed.
- Assist the accounts payable team with invoice processing and resolving vendor queries when necessary.
- Assist in identifying areas for improvement within existing processes.
- Create strong SOP documentation of your routine tasks to enable cross-training.
- Support the accounting team with ad hoc tasks and special projects.
Who You Are:
- 1-2 years of experience in a previous accounting role.
Good verbal and written communication skills is essential for collaborating with our team and conveying financial insights
- Strong interpersonal skills and a customer-obsessed mindset are crucial as you'll be interacting with various stakeholders and ensuring their needs are met with precision and care.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail are necessary to manage complex financial data accurately.
- Able to manage time effectively and meet deadlines in our fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities to be able to navigate challenges and uncover valuable insights.
- Able to prioritize tasks and ask for help when needed to ensure that you stay focused on what's important and foster a collaborative work culture.
- Being comfortable with a fast-paced environment means you'll thrive under pressure.
- Proficiency with G-suite/Microsoft Office Suite ensures smooth day-to-day operations. Experience with NetSuite is a plus.
- Pursuing a CPA designation.
- Experience in monthly accounting close cycle.
- Knowledge of US GAAP.
- Legally able to work in Canada.
- Completion of criminal background check.
