The Position:
Neelands is seeking an Accounts Payable Manager to join our team in Burlington, Ontario. Reporting to the Controller, the Accounts Payable Manager will oversee and coordinate the activities of the Accounts Payable Clerks to ensure efficient and effective operations. Key responsibilities include managing payment processing, ensuring compliance with regulations, handling government remittances, and providing leadership and expertise to the Accounts Payable team. Additionally, this role involves producing ad-hoc analyses and reports as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Lead process improvements and automation projects within the accounts payable team, including setting measurable metrics for the team
- Prepare analysis and reports related to the accounts payable function
- Execute Accounts Payable (A/P) functions while continually seeking improvements to processes to obtain efficiencies
- Develop and coach Accounts Payable team to ensure company objectives are met as well as to enhance individual skills and experience to achieve desired personal growth, including setting goals aligned with company objectives
- Monitor and balance workflow among staff members
- Establish and communicate standard operating procedures for accounts payable related matters, when applicable
- Perform key analytics to monitor Accounts Payable trends
- Respond to routine queries from vendors and coordinate the reconciliation of vendor accounts to the Accounts Payable subledger
- Ensure appropriate approval and matching is observed for purchases and payments
- Responsible for adhering to and enhancing the AP internal control environment as well as assisting in the year end audit processes
- Online maintenance of company credit cards
- Monitor company cash flow
- Perform and/or review bank and credit card reconciliations
- Perform multi-currency transactions
- Process and reconcile multi-company transactions
Qualifications:
- University Degree or College Diploma, in business or accounting discipline, combined with a minimum of 5 yrs Accounts Payable Management experience is required
- ERP Accounts Payable and General Ledger experience (any experience using Acumatica is an asset)
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel, such as Pivot Tables & Formulas (v-lookups, sum, if etc.)
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
