Legend Spirits Company is a craft distillery and retail shop located on the historic Seguin River in downtown Parry Sound. Legend Spirit is looking for a Part-time Bookkeeper to join their amazing team.
Job Summary
The Bookkeeper is a vital part-time role responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with payroll and tax regulations, and overseeing daily accounting operations for the distillery. This position combines technical expertise with a proactive approach to financial management and requires a high level of dedication and effective communication.
Key Accountabilities
Financial Record Management
· Oversee and maintain the QuickBooks system for accurate tracking of all financial transactions.
· Reconcile weekly cash, tips, and deposits, ensuring all records are up-to-date and accurate.
· Process invoices and ensure timely payment of utility bills and other obligations.
Payroll Administration
· Manage payroll processes, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time.
· Calculate and submit payroll deductions and taxes to meet compliance requirements.
Banking and Reconciliation
· Perform weekly bank deposits, ensuring all financial paperwork is accounted for.
· Monitor and reconcile the company’s bank accounts to maintain financial accuracy.
Financial Systems Oversight
· Ensure proper functionality of Purtrak and Square point-of-sale systems.
· Provide recommendations to resolve discrepancies or improve operational efficiency.
Reporting and Communication
· Provide regular updates to management on financial matters, including bank activity and reconciliations.
· Meet weekly with leadership to discuss cash flow, pending transactions, and any financial concerns.
· Respond promptly to emails and inquiries, maintaining clear and effective communication with stakeholders.
Competencies
· Strong attention to detail by maintaining a high level of accuracy in all financial records and processes.
· Advanced proficient in QuickBooks and point-of-sale systems such as Square and easily adapts to the use of technology.
· Manages time efficiently to prioritizes tasks and responds promptly to financial needs.
· Demonstrates strong regulatory knowledge and understanding of payroll and tax compliance requirements.
· Communication effectively through clarity and provides concise updates and fosters positive relationships with team members.

Qualifications
· Finance or Accounting diploma or degree
· 3+ years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles.
· Proficiency in QuickBooks and other financial management software.
· Familiarity with payroll processing and tax filing.
· Strong organizational and time-management skills.
· Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Working Conditions
· Part-time onsite position with one of the 3 days designated as Wednesday at the distillery.
· Flexibility to respond to urgent financial matters outside of regular hours.
· Collaborative work environment with regular interaction with management and team members.
Active involvement in hands-on tasks, as needed, to support business operations
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
