JLL is seeking a competent Payroll Specialist to join its payroll team. The team manages a large nationwide employee base across multiple business lines. We will rely on you for accurate and timely administration and maintaining compliance with government regulations. The ideal candidate is analytical with strong attention to detail. You will be highly motivated, organized, and able to work in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills, professionalism, and the ability to maintain confidentiality are essential.
This is a hybrid role with an expectation to be in the downtown office twice/week and flexibility to work remotely the other days.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Responsible for collecting, verifying and processing the payroll for hourly and salaried employees 4 Payrolls. This will include calculating hours, computing, and deducting various amounts (statutory deductions, insurance, benefits premiums, and other payroll deductions);
- Responsible for the day-to-day payroll functions of the Company including conversion of EZLabour to ADP for processing worked hours for completeness and accuracy;
- Create internal management reports from the payroll system;
- Reconciliation and remittance of all payroll statements;
- Prepare monthly payments of union dues;
- Prepare and submit monthly payments to Manulife for RRSP contributions;
- Maintenance of records of sick leave, vacation entitlement, etc.;
- Maintain employee records; prepare data on new, retiring or terminated employees; transfers, salary adjustments, etc.
- Prepare monthly payments and annual reconciliations of bi-weekly payroll;
- Administer the payroll function, including overseeing the preparation, calculation and disbursement of wages, deductions, overtime payments, incentive earnings, garnishments and payroll;
- Prepare required ad-hoc and standardized reports;
- Resolve payroll discrepancies;
- Ensure the creation and timely submission of ROE Web requests;
- Answer questions on payroll-related policies and procedures across Canada
- Support payroll and benefits-related projects as required;
- Any other reasonable duties and responsibilities assigned;
WHAT YOU BRING
- Payroll Compliance Professional designation required.
- 4+ years of payroll experience or a combination of education and experience
- Union experience is an asset
- Proficiency in ADP WFN and WorkDay
- Proficiency in full cycle Payroll
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline is an asset
