Bookkeeper (Part-time)

Utility Solutions Corporation is looking for an individual to join our team to be a bookkeeper in the lower Etobicoke area. The successful candidate should possess excellent: bookkeeping, communication, organization, and office skills. The successful candidate must be able to take the lead role on all bookkeeping activities, work independently and be flexible with hours, responsibilities, and duties. The bookkeeper role will be expected to work at USC’s Etobicoke office 1-2 days per week.

The bookkeeper will initially be focused on historical clean-up, including Billing, A/R, Reconciliations, etc. It is expected that the duration for the historical clean-up will be 4-6 weeks, during which time the bookkeeper will be working full time and up to 3-4 days in office. Following the historical clean-up, it is expected the bookkeeper will be working part-time, up to 1-2 days per week in office.

Job Summary:

Initial historical clean-up (Billing, A/R, Reconciliations, etc.), expect 4-6 weeks and up to 40 hours per week – following historical clean-up, the bookkeeper will be working part-time, up to 1-2 days per week in office (flexible)
Monthly billing (approx. 20 invoices monthly)
Take the lead on all bookkeeping activities
AR/AP/Payroll
Reconcile accounts, credit cards, bank accounts, monthly vendors statements
Post & Maintain journal entries
Month End, Quarter End and Final Reports
Year End Preparation
Statements and Job profit reports
Prepare tax remittance, workers' compensation, and tax return
Strong Quick Books& MS Office Skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Attention to detail & Organized
General office admin tasks and supportive duties

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

5-10 years of experience in bookkeeping
QuickBooks: 5 – 10 years
Proficient written and oral English skills
Expert level proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Education:

Accounting Diploma or Degree

Schedule:

40 hours per week, 3-4 days in office per week (flexible) for initial historical clean-up; duration approximately 4-6 weeks
20 hours per week, 1-2 days in office per week (flexible) on an as-need basis
Opportunity for more hours – dictated by workload/projects

Salary:

$25.00-$35.00 per hour depending on experience and job performance
