Property Accountant

The Typhon Group Limited is a growing Commercial Property Management and Residential Development company located in Mississauga, ON. We have an outstanding opportunity for a Property Accountant to join our Accounting Team. Reporting directly to the Owner, the Property Accountant is responsible for a specific portfolio of properties with the following responsibilities:

Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes for multiple properties
Reconciliation of bank statements, mortgages, loans and monthly journal entries.
Prepare and report monthly HST, Payroll & Other Remittances.
Prepare and process Tenant CAM/TAX recovery reconciliations annually.
Commercial Lease Administration
Investigate and validate recovery rules in tenant leases.
Prepare, review and post monthly rent roll
Process Accounts Receivable and follow up on overdue accounts
Verify code and ensure processing of accounts payable, and review payments for accuracy before submission to Management for signatures.
Ensure correct chargeback such as utilities to tenants.
Prepare and submit annual MPAC financial reporting requirement, vacancy rebates.
Prepare year end audit working papers and liaison with auditors.
Prepare various weekly and monthly accounting reports and analysis as requested.
Prepare monthly financial statements for internal management.
Prepare and reviewing of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
Support property management personnel in financial accounting matters.
Perform other related duties as assigned by Management.

Requirements

College diploma or University degree is required.
Accounting designation in CPA, CMA/CGA an asset.
Minimum 3 years full cycle accounting experience in the Commercial Property Management.
Understanding of commercial leases
Strong systems skills (Excel, Word, Outlook) required.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Detail oriented with superior analytical and communications skills.
