Pro-Choice Society of Lethbridge & Southern Alberta (Pro-ChoiceYQL) is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Bookkeeper. Pro-Choice YQL is a charitable non-profit focused on access to sexual and reproductive health care. Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles. This role is essential for the smooth operation of our financial processes and will involve working closely with our board, 4 employees, and 2 contractors to support budgeting and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

Maintain and update financial records,
Perform bank reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial statements.
Ensure recocilliation align with our grant funding
Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
Assist in budgeting processes by providing necessary financial data and reports.
Utilize accounting software and digital signature software
Prepare monthly financial reports and assist in year-end closing procedures.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with company policies.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role within the accounting field.
Proficiency in accounting software and digital signing software is preferred.
Strong knowledge of bank reconciliation, and account analysis.
Familiarity with budgeting practices and financial reporting standards.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with team members and stakeholders.
