Job Description

Reporting to the Manager, Finance and Payroll, this position is part of a high-performing fast paced team providing payroll services support for the Hospital and Foundation. Ensuring that employees are paid accurately and on time, while maintaining compliance with Government legislation, reporting guidelines, Hospital Policy and Statutory requirements for a full payroll cycle.

Key Responsibilities

Analyze reports to maintain payroll, benefits and attendance transactions within a centralized computerized environment
Work with other departments such as Finance, Human Resources and Centralized Staffing and Scheduling to support the employees from New Hire to Retirement and all changes in between
Coordinate and process payroll ensuring the integrity of the payroll and all related transactions
Investigate and resolve discrepancies/errors and escalate for resolution where appropriate
Process and balance payroll expenses, deductions and adjustments
Assist in CRA filings, Benefit reconciliations and Pension reporting
Provide support for project work and other duties as required

Requirements

Registered in or completed Payroll Administration or Payroll Compliance Practitioner
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs and Internet
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment to meet deadlines
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills with strong attention to detail
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
