Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will support various accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial regulations. This role is perfect for individuals looking to grow their accounting knowledge as you will work closely with the Controller and focus heavily on internal financial accounting practices and operations.

Duties

Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
Review various data inputs for job costing
Reconciliation of intercompany balances
Assist with preparation of financial statements
Maintain accurate records in accounting software and other databases
Support month-end closing processes by reconciling accounts and preparing necessary documentation
Collaborate with team members to improve accounting processes and enhance efficiency
Conduct regular audits of financial transactions to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations
Provide clerical support as needed

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
Familiarity with job costing systems is preferred
Experience with accounting software, particularly QuickBooks
Experience with dispatch software would be considered an asset
Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions.
Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing individual responsibilities effectively.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
