Job Title: Accounting Associate (Part-time, flexible & fully remote)

Pay rate: $2,400/month or $20/hour 30 hours/week

We adapt to our clients specific needs and act as anywhere from a virtual bookkeeper to Controller/Director/CFO or even an entire finance function for some of the clients we work with. The nature of our role and the scope of our work depends on the needs of the clients. From day-to-day bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, preparation of financial statements to preparing budgets, forecasting and preparing business plans, Azure does it all. The size of our clientele ranges from $100k in annual revenues to $25 million+.

The Role:

What started as a part-time business venture between two friends quickly grew beyond expectations and capacity. As we continue to grow, we are looking for an Accounting Associate to help support our growth. This is a part time opportunity that will require roughly 25-30 hours/week commitment. This role will be fully remote, and the candidate will generally have flexibility in choosing their working hours, however, occasional scheduled calls and on-site client meetings may be required. The candidate will be given a series of tasks (roughly 30 hours/week) that they will need to complete by a set deadline every week. How and when the candidate choses to complete that task will be left to them. This role will be a great learning opportunity as the candidate will have exposure to multiple clients in various industries. Occasionally the candidate may be expected to join evening update calls and travel to client sites.

Some of that tasks that the candidate will be involved in will be the following:

Day-to-day bookkeeping and classifying business transactions
Monthly bank/credit card reconciliations
Accounts payable & invoice management
Month end journal entries
General ledger review
Inventory counts (quarterly)
Ad-hoc analysis as required by management
Financial statement preparation and analysis (with experience)
Tax return prep (with experience)
Budgeting and forecasting (with experience)

Requirements:

Must have:

Business education (graduated or in progress)
Excellent time management skills
Problem solving skills
Ability to work independently
Meet tight deadlines

Good to have:

Bookkeeping and/or accounting experience
Interested in pursuing the CPA designation
Canadian Tax knowledge and/or tax preparation experience
QuickBooks, Xero or other accounting system experience
Fishbowl, PowerBI or other business software experience
